Family tradition celebrates 89 years of farming and serving the public with wholesome farm fresh
fruits and vegetables!

Four generations of the Matarazzo Family have been contributed to one of the remaining few
working farms in Essex County, New Jersey. Located in North Caldwell, Matarazzo Farms has been
continuing a family tradition that started back in 1921 by Constantino and Filomena Matarazzo.

The current generations have continued to provide high quality fresh fruits and vegetables as well
as offer lush plant and nursery stock. Fresh picked produce from their North Caldwell farm as well
as from their Hope, NJ farm together with a cornucopia of produce from their sister farms in NJ
have provided the family tradition with a diverse selection of quality fruits and vegetables from
over 1,000 acres of choice farmland. Thousands of customers fill the Matarazzo Farm Market each
year from April through December making the farm a historic destination for weekly visits.
Generations of families have handed down the tradition of making Matarazzo Farms their favorite
stop for fresh produce, farm education and in recent years even a little entertainment, featuring
hayrides, small farm animals and fall adventure games.

Family farms are disappearing all over New Jersey as the pressure to sell to developers increases
and the loss of interest from the next generation prohibits the older farmers from continuing.
However the Matarazzo Family continues to provide farm fresh produce while providing an
opportunity for future generations.

Matarazzo Farms is also an active participant in many farmers markets throughout the
metropolitan area and their educated, friendly staff are always ready to assist customers. The
Matarazzo Family continues to do their part keeping the Garden in The Garden State.

Matarazzo Farms is located at 216 Mountain Ave. North Caldwell, NJ and is open 7 days a week
from April through December. For directions or additional information see our direction page or
